World Bank adviser to speak at global biogas show
World Bank adviser on agricultural risks and markets Marc Sadler will give a keynote address at UK AD & Biogas and World Biogas Expo on 5 July 2017.
Mr Sadler, who regularly advises governments and supply-chain stakeholders on commodity markets, finance, logistics, trading, and risk management, will speak about how anaerobic digestion (AD) and biogas can help to meet the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs).
With the potential global biogas market estimated at £1trn and energy security, climate change and the UN SDGs driving the need to rapidly increase the uptake of biogas, the World Biogas Association has partnered with ADBA to showcase the global biogas industry at ADBA’s AD & Biogas tradeshow, which last year was attended by participants from over 50 countries.
Mr Sadler said: “Anaerobic digestion and biogas have a key role to play in helping to meet the UN SDGs and global climate-change targets. Biogas not only generates low-carbon energy and biofertiliser, it also reduces harmful methane emissions from food and farming wastes, increases food and energy security, improves waste management and sanitation, and reduces poverty and hunger.”
UK AD & Biogas and World Biogas Expo 2017 will take place from 5-6 July at the NEC in Birmingham and will be the show’s seventh consecutive year. Find out more about the show and register for free here.
